7th edition of Bahrain Sports Day to kick off tomorrow at BIC

Manama, Feb. 1 (BNA): Under the auspices of the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Authority for Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the seventh edition of Bahrain Sports Day will kick off tomorrow, Thursday, at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.


The three-day event is being organized for the second year in a row by the Bahrain Sports Society for All. The celebration comes in implementation of the decision of the heads of the Gulf Olympic Committees to organize a “Sports Day” in all GCC countries in the second week of February.


All national sports federations will participate in the Sports Village events established by the Bahrain Sports for All Association at the Bahrain International Centre. The event includes all individual and team sports and gives the public the opportunity to experience all sports in the same venue. The event also includes other activities such as awareness lectures, theatrical and entertainment shows, in addition to a corner for restaurants and productive families.


Bahrain Sports Day kicks off from the Bahrain International Center at 11:00 am with the organization of an international scientific symposium entitled “Sports for All and Challenges of the Age in the Third Millennium”. The Higher Organizing Committee has developed a program to ensure live coverage of all sports and activities in cooperation with Bahrain TV.


The Council of Ministers, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, agreed in its regular weekly meeting that was held on Monday, January 9, that Thursday, February 2, 2023, that half a working day be in all ministries, government agencies and institutions Allowing its employees to participate in the “Sports Day” activities.

The Supreme Organizing Committee called on all ministries and public and private institutions to participate in the Bahrain Sports Day by organizing sports activities in the workplace and encouraging its employees to practice sports in order to promote public health and promote sports as a way of life.
